Gigi Hadid and Tommy Hilfiger are coming together at the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) for as W quotes it, a “fashion experience”. It isn't the regular fashion show but a full blown carnival extravaganza on Pier 16 in South Street Seaport. This show is going to admit 2000 people to witness the show and have fun at the carnival. This is reportedly the biggest show this fall.
The fashion show is cleverly named the “Tommy Pier” and rumours have it that there is going to be a 40-foot ferris wheel, cotton candy, and the works! There is even going to be a store to sell vintage Tommy gear.
The idea of the carnival is to capitalize on the millennials who like to be gratified instantly. The fans who cannot get in on the venue tickets can watch it online. The show will be live on Snapchat and also on the Hilfiger website. Fans can even buy the collaborated clothes online.
So, although 2000 guests will be admitted to the venue, half of the tickets will be given away to the general public as prizes for their various contests and giveaways. This is one of the best moves Tommy has made in his career.
The carnival will stay in place even after the show. In fact, it would be open to more public viewing for an entire day after the show.
There is a lot of excitement for NYFW this year and knowing something like this is going to be there too builds the excitement to even higher proportions!
